Your Finest Hour

Your finest hour is now.  For now is the true battle won.  Now is your heart revealed.  Now is your course set.  That which happens now determines the arena where you will make your stand for truth and life against the deceptions of darkness and evil.  Choose your path based on the level of your commitment to reveal and establish My kingdom on this earth.  For as you choose now, I will enroll you in the preparation for your place in My kingdom.  What cup will you drink?  What Goliath will you challenge?  What weapons will you choose?  Consider the cost, but measure the reward.

2 Kings 13:15-19

Elisha said, "Get a bow and some arrows," and he did so.  “Take the bow in your hands," he said to the king of Israel. When he had taken it, Elisha put his hands on the king's hands.  "Open the east window," he said, and he opened it. "Shoot!" Elisha said, and he shot. "The LORD's arrow of victory, the arrow of victory over Aram!" Elisha declared. "You will completely destroy the Arameans at Aphek."

Then he said, "Take the arrows," and the king took them. Elisha told him, "Strike the ground." He struck it three times and stopped.  The man of God was angry with him and said, "You should have struck the ground five or six times; then you would have defeated Aram and completely destroyed it. But now you will defeat it only three times."

This prophetic word says that now is the time to determine your level of commitment to the calling that is on your life.  Based on your commitment, God will commit to you to prepare you for a place in His Kingdom.  God has said that many are called, but few are chosen.  This would indicate that your response to the calling is the key, but that not many are willing to go “all in”.  The passage in 2 Kings above is a picture of the focus and commitment of the King of Israel.  The shooting of the arrow shows direction and the striking of the arrows shows commitment.

This prophetic word asks you to choose “what cup” you will drink.  Consider the words of Jesus to His disciples when they were seeking a great place in the kingdom:

Mark 10:37-40

They replied, "Let one of us sit at your right and the other at your left in your glory."

"You don't know what you are asking," Jesus said. "Can you drink the cup I drink or be baptized with the baptism I am baptized with?"

"We can," they answered. Jesus said to them, "You will drink the cup I drink and be baptized with the baptism I am baptized with, but to sit at my right or left is not for me to grant. These places belong to those for whom they have been prepared."

From this verse, it is apparent that “drinking the cup” is a serious commitment and should not be taken lightly.

Also the questions of the Goliath that you will face is significant, because David accepted the challenge to fight Goliath.  He chose the weapon that he was familiar with and trusted in God.  By doing so, He defeated the entire Philistine army as a teenager.  Great victories come from great battles and can come with great cost.  Though he defeated Goliath, he had to run for his life for more than 10 years, while hiding in caves.  So this word encourage you to “Consider the cost, but measure the reward”.  IF you are willing and able, the reward can be great:

2 Corinthians 4:17-18

For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.  So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
