My Witness

Do not neglect those that are closest to you. You must be sure that all those around you know where you stand and that you have your arms outstretched to them. Know what you believe. Know who you believe. Manifest faith and trust in Me. For I am giving you power to be My witness starting in your daily home and radiating outward.

Acts 1:8

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

Commentary

If you have been spending time with God lately, then I am sure you have noticed lately that your beliefs have clarified greatly. There is clearly a separation taking place between the Kingdom of God and the kingdoms of this world. Though the world cries love and tolerance, what they love and tolerate is not the will of the creator. Also, as they cry love and tolerance, they seem to less and less love and tolerate the things of God. There is clearly a deception dominating this world that will eventually lead to destruction as it is written.

However, there really is a God, and there really is truth. And the only way some people will ever see it is through you. I believe that there are many around us everyday who will perish because they never really heard or understood the truth, right here is your “Jerusalem”. We all want to see the power of God, but His word says that the purpose of this power upon us is to be a witness of who He is, not who you are. Consider the following commission that was given to Jesus and consequently to us:

Luke 4:18, 19, 21

18 "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed,

19 to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor." . . .

21 and he began by saying to them, "Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing."
