Career Opportunity

Looking for a career opportunity?  Today I offer you a position, a promotion to the high places of My Kingdom where much can be seen and known.  But know that I hold you accountable for that which you see and that which you pray for.  Who do you pray for?  Who do you minister to?   For if I give you charge over My kingdom, will you faithfully pray My will?  Will you watch over My kingdom as you watch over your own house?  Today consider My offer.  I offer you an internship to prepare you to rule and reign with Me when I soon return.  But prayer is not an occasional wish or a hope, and ministry is not a church service, it is exercising My will, My compassion, and My authority.  Are you ready to go higher?  Are you willing to take on the job?  Apply in person.  Some travel required.

Psalms 2:7-9

I will proclaim the decree of the LORD: He said to me, "You are my Son; today I have become your Father.  Ask of me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possessionYou will rule them with an iron scepter; you will dash them to pieces like pottery."

Revelation 2:26-27

To him who overcomes and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations-- 'He will rule them with an iron scepter; he will dash them to pieces like pottery'-- just as I have received authority from my Father.

Commentary

This prophetic word is an invitation to extend your area of prayer and concern.  The Lord is offering to give you a higher position of authority and vision if you will be faithful to pray, intercede, and minister over that domain.  Many only will accept responsibility for themselves or their family and their prayer will show that.  But if you are willing to accept a higher accountability for a larger scope, then God will give you a higher position that gives you a clearer vision over that area and authority in prayer and ministry.  He word also indicates that if you are faithful in this assignment, you will receive a higher position in the Lord’s coming earthly Kingdom.  This makes spiritual sense to me, because as you pray for something, you assume a responsibility for it and will also receive God’s vision for that area that you may pray and minister His will.

The passage in Psalms 2:7-9 is a prophetic word giving authority to Jesus over the nations.  But in Revelations 2:26-27, Jesus says He will pass that authority on to those who overcome.  If you desire to be one of these overcomers, understand that the prophetic word above requires that you must be faithful to watch over what the Lord cares about.  Therefore you should not enter into this offer lightly.

This is also the point of this parable in Luke when the King asks his servants to manage His positions until He returns.  To the one who was faithful he said:

Luke 19:17

'Well done, my good servant!' his master replied. 'Because you have been trustworthy in a very small matter, take charge of ten cities.'

But this is not just a training exercise.  According to the words of Paul to Timothy, “first of all” prayer for those in authority or prayer for a city, nation, or the world, can accomplish much.

1 Timothy 2:1-3

I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone--  for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.  This is good, and pleases God our Savior,
