Contrast

Contrast is necessary for clear vision and discernment.  You must begin to see the events and attitudes of this world through eyes of contrast.  For I am using the canvas of today’s world to paint the picture of My kingdom.  For I wish to contrast My kingdom to the world, not imitate it.  Therefore, the fulfilling of My words will bring fear to the world, but peace to My kingdom.   I am calling you to be salt and light, not background music.  For you have My words, My promise, and My peace.  You have the destiny of David, not the doom of Saul.  Therefore be distinguished from the world, not extinguished by it.

Matthew 5:13-16

You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.  You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.        Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.  In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

Commentary

I believe this prophetic word is about the new discussions that God is having with us as referred to in the prophetic word “A New Menu”.  This prophetic word is a setting apart from the world that we may understand what is going on from God’s perspective and be positioned to manifest the kingdom on earth to be a witness and to prepare us for our kingdom destiny when Jesus soon returns.  The bible teaches by contrast between two concepts or people such as the two tress, law and grace, good and evil, Jacob and Esau, Martha and Mary, Saul and David, etc.  Therefore, God is going to use His true church as a contrast to the world just as Jesus contrast Himself and the Kingdom to the world when He walked the earth.  This could have profound implications to our lives if the Lord chooses and could result in rejection from the world and even persecution.  Though the gospel is the good news of truth and the love of God, many in the world will see it as intolerant and judgmental.   But others will “see you good deeds and praise your Father in heaven”.
