Habakkuk’s Prayer

Habakkuk knew that God was going to deal with the people of Judah and that it wasn’t going to be a pleasant experience. However, Habakkuk accepted the word by asking God for his grace and mercy. He understood that God not only disciplines the unjust but the just as well. There were going to be times of famine and death, but Habakkuk had to praise God through the pruning process. Habakkuk displays his faith in the Father by not allowing his feelings to be controlled by the chaos that surrounded him.

Habakkuk symbolizes the body of Christ today. Christians observe what the people of the world are doing and proclaim that they have the keys to infinite success, not knowing that we are robbing ourselves of the inheritance of the Father. When we put limits on the Father’s attributes and miraculous works that he has already completed and preparing to do for our lives, we are saying to the Father that there is no need or want for him in any situation we face on this earth. However, if the body of Christ believes and receives that God is omnipotent, omnipresent, and the agape loving Father of our lives, then can we see and receive all the blessings and promises he has predestined for us.

Habakkuk 3:17-19

Though the fig tree may not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines; though the labor of the olive may fail, and the fields yield no food; though the flock may be cut off from the fold, and there be no herd in the stalls-- Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.  The LORD God is my strength; he will make my feet like deer's feet, and He will make me walk on my high hills.
