The Afflictions of the Righteous

Many are the affliction of the righteous. For the ways of My kingdom are opposed to the ways of this world, and many afflictions will result. But I am calling you to stand and declare My truth in this hour. For I will defend My truth and My messengers. But you must seek Me for My truth and My words and My heart. For these are the days of great battles for the hearts of men. These are the days when the righteous must stand and declare My word. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but I, the Lord, will deliver you out of the all.

Psalms 34:19-22

Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all. He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken. Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate. The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.

2 Corinthians 4:16-17

Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day. For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison,

Commentary

This prophetic word warns that when God calls you to stand, afflictions may result. But as any soldier knows, there is always risk in battle. But even if there are consequences to standing for God’s truth, He will deliver you out of them all. You may not consider martyrdom as deliverance, but if God so chooses, it will be worth it eternally. It is important to notice that the word says that God will defend His truth and His messengers. Therefore, there may be times when you may have to trust Him to defend you rather than defend yourself. But the key thing to remember is that God holds the keys to eternal life and eternal rewards, so afflictions down here for His sake, may result is a great reward in glory.
