Without Me

Without Me the world lives in chaos and deceit.  Because man’s greatest weakness is that He wants to be his own God.  And yet this very desire pulls him from Me, the one who is God.  For though man was made in My image, he was not made as Me.  He was made as My help mate.  And as a help mate, he will always seek approval from that which makes him feel special. He seeks to be great in the eyes of others.  So man creates gods that will show him favor that he may feel important.  But only I am God.  Only I can satisfy.  Only I am worthy of praise.

He who does not know Me will live in deception.  He who does not serve me will serve false gods.  He who does not worship me will worship evil.  But He who loves Me will rule with Me in righteousness, peace and joy.

John 15:4-7

Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.  If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.  If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you.

Commentary

This prophetic word reveals that man desire to be accepted by someone greater that him.  Therefore if man doesn’t believe in the true and living God, he will probably create a God of his own to seek favor from.   This is supported by the fact that almost every culture has created some form of god or gods to serve and worship.  But there is only one true God and the only way to avoid this deception or self deception is to serve the only true and living God.

The scripture above from John 15 says that the relation between God and man is equivalent to the relationship between the vine and the branch.  Therefore man will always seek a ‘vine’ to attach to.  But only by attaching to true vine, can man find the acceptance he needs.
