What are you Apologizing For?

What are you apologizing for?  Are you sorry for offending the world?  Are you making excuses for your beliefs?  Are you apologizing for Me?  For I will not apologize neither will I repent for truth and righteousness, and you should not either.  For My Son paid a great price to give you the truth and righteous of My Holy Spirit.  Therefore, before you offer regret, think about what it is that you truly regret, and from whom you should ask forgiveness.  For true forgiveness only comes from Me.  True repentance brings grace from Me.  And My grace brings to you the true power to change.  Therefore consider your heart and your true motives before you offer the empty words of appeasement.  Never apologize for My truth.

Romans 1:16

I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes:

Luke 9:26

If anyone is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.

Commentary

This prophetic word asks you to consider your actions and your motives when you offer an apology.  Of course many apologies are appropriate and needed.  However, if the apology is because you have offended someone with the truth of God, you need to consider why you are apologizing.  Did you truly error is what you said, or is your motive appeasement?   Are you apologizing to God or man?  Is your intent to repent and change your ways?  All of these questions are to be considered according to this word.  For while man looks at the actions, God looks on the heart.  He knows our true intent, and often we must stop and consider what He sees in us.

The verses of Romans 1:16 and Luke 9:26 shown above are a sobering indictment of our motives and the result in the Kingdom.  If we apologize to the world for our beliefs, then we are saying that we are ashamed of the Gospel.  The tragic result of this in red letters is that “the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes”

Clearly in this prophetic word, God is saying that if we are concerned that the truth of God has offended the world, we should not apologize.  We should be much more concerned about how God feels than how the world feels.  God’s word is truth and He paid a very high price that we might receive His truth.  Often we tend to express the word of God as what we believe, as if it is just an opinion that can be accepted or rejected.  But God’s word is truth whether or not we believe it or whether or not the world believes it.

We should know already that those in darkness are going to be offended by the light of truth.  Consider the experience of Jesus:

Mark 6:3

“Isn't this the carpenter? Isn't this Mary's son and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas and Simon? Aren't his sisters here with us?" And they took offense at him.

John 15:18-19

If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.  If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.

John 3:19-21

This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.       Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.  But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.

And consider the words of Paul:

1 Corinthians 1:18-20

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.  For it is written: "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate."  Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?

One other part of this word to consider is that it reveals that only through the truth of God will the grace of God manifest to be changed or delivered.  Salvation takes place when a person realizes through the Gospel that he needs a savior.  True change and freedom from sin can only take place through God’s saving grace.  We must share God’s truth if we are to seeking to free the deceived and lost through His redeeming grace.  Though there may be offense from the truth of God, perhaps the Holy Spirit will use your words to draw people to redemption.

Jesus also offers these somewhat encouraging words:

Matthew 5:11-14

"Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.  Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.  You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.”
