Produce Righteousness

It is actually very simple.  You must produce righteousness in that which you do.  It is not enough to be righteous, without being righteous.  Evil is not a theory or a concept, it is a force at work in the hearts of men.  That force must be met with the power of the truth, the power of My Spirit.  No one every glorified My kingdom by reading a book or talking of theories.  For I created man to have dominion and rule in righteousness, not be ruled by evil. I am coming to rule a world that cannot rule itself.  I will rule with a rod of iron because without Me, man cannot stand.  But with Me, man must stand.

(Righteous produce is to produce righteousness)

John 15:1-2

I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.

Ephesians 5:8-13

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord.

Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret.  But everything exposed by the light becomes visible,

Commentary

I have read this prophetic word over several times and I am not sure that I yet fully understand it though it is ‘very simple’.   It appears to say that though we are declared righteous through the blood of Jesus Christ, the Lord is requiring that we produce the fruit of righteousness, not just ‘be righteous’.   The reference to evil as a force indicates that it is not passively waiting for mankind to fail in righteousness, but is actively working to cause us to sin against God.   Therefore we must actively oppose the evil with acts of righteousness.  This also agrees with

Galatians 5:22-25

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.  Against such things there is no law.

Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires.  Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.

The fruit of the Spirit is not just our position in Christ, it is a manifestation of the Holy Spirit working in us.

The reference to John 15:1-2 above can also be disturbing to those not producing the fruit of righteousness.  Jesus says, “He (the Father) cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit”.  I cannot fully interpret what is mean by “branch in me”, but “cuts off” seem to imply it was attached.  In any case, I take this word as a warning to the church, not to the unbeliever.  After all, both Jesus and Paul wrote letters to the churches, not to the world.

The last half of the word seems to indicate why we must actively produce righteousness.  It says that evil is not passive and must be ruled over in our lives as we submit to Him.  He is a ruler and should be ruling in our lives if indeed He is truly Lord of our lives.  The good news is that He also promises that:

Revelation 3:21

To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne.

And

Revelation 2:26-27

To him who overcomes and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations-- 'He will rule them with an iron scepter; he will dash them to pieces like pottery'-- just as I have received authority from my Father.

The last parenthetical comment in the prophetic word uses the word ‘produce’ as both the fruit and the action.  That is something that I still need to consider more.
