Brothers, What Shall We Do?

Now is the time to seize the moment and fill the void.  For many are asking the question, “What shall we do?”.  Many are seeking direction and many are waiting on the sidelines for a hero to appear.  Step in and let Me begin to share My hope, My truth, My life.  For I have trained you to hear My voice and to speak My words.  Now is the time to step forward.  Try it and see what I will do.  Don’t worry about what they will think, but consider what I think.  For they do not hold your future, I do.  They do not hold your destiny, I do.  They do not hold your eternal reward, I do.  Prepare yourself to speak with My authority.  Prepare yourself to answer with My truth.  Prepare yourself to lead them to Me .  I will provide the fishes and loaves, but you must give them something to eat.

Acts 2:37-40

When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, "Brothers, what shall we do?"

Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.  The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off-- for all whom the Lord our God will call."

With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, "Save yourselves from this corrupt generation."

Luke 9:12-13

Late in the afternoon the Twelve came to him and said, "Send the crowd away so they can go to the surrounding villages and countryside and find food and lodging, because we are in a remote place here."

He replied, "You give them something to eat."

Commentary

This prophetic word encourages us step into the void of spiritual leadership and truth.   God is calling people from all over the world who are awakening to the current deception being spread across this country, the world, and even in the church.  But as they are awakened by the sharing of the truth through the Spirit of Truth, they ask the question, “What shall we do?”.  This is the prompting of the Holy Spirit inviting you to share the gospel.  This word encourages you to prepare to share the gospel and lead others into a personal relationship with God through Jesus.  As Jesus said in:

Matthew 9:36-38

When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.  Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."

Though only God can cause the crops to grow and ripen, the farmer must harvest them and bring them into the barn.  God promises to prepare the harvest, but He is asking us to harvest the crops.  This word suggests that we are accountable to Him to be prepared and to step out when He presents the opportunity.

The passage of Acts 2:37-40 is an example when Peter, who had just denied Jesus three times, stood up before the same people who had just crucified Jesus and shared the gospel.  This sharing carried the anointing of God and prompted the question, “What must we do?”.  Peter answered their question and led them to salvation by the power of the Holy Spirit.  We are being challenged to be prepared to do the same.

The passage of Luke 9:12-13 is known as the feeding of the five thousand.  Though Jesus supplied the miracle of the loaves and fishes, His command was to His disciples, ” You give them something to eat”.  So don’t send them away hungry when you have the bread of life.
