Arriving

Today is the day you arrive at you new destination.  Though it is not your final destination, it is the place for this season.  Unpack your bags and begin to take ownership.  There is much to do here, so survey quickly and let us begin.  As Nehemiah surveyed the walls of Jerusalem, walk the territory that I have assigned to you.  Look with My eyes that you may see what needs to be and what needs to be done.  See the final product and don’t doubt, but believe with Me.   Pray and I will give you wisdom.  Commit your work to Me and together we will build it.  For I am looking for those who will take the challenge.  I am looking for those who will do it My way.  I am looking for those who will build My Kingdom now and forever.

Nehemiah 2:15-20

So I went up the valley by night, examining the wall. Finally, I turned back and reentered through the Valley Gate.  The officials did not know where I had gone or what I was doing, because as yet I had said nothing to the Jews or the priests or nobles or officials or any others who would be doing the work.

Then I said to them, "You see the trouble we are in: Jerusalem lies in ruins, and its gates have been burned with fire. Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, and we will no longer be in disgrace."  I also told them about the gracious hand of my God upon me and what the king had said to me. They replied, "Let us start rebuilding." So they began this good work.

But when Sanballat the Horonite, Tobiah the Ammonite official and Geshem the Arab heard about it, they mocked and ridiculed us. "What is this you are doing?" they asked. "Are you rebelling against the king?"

I answered them by saying, "The God of heaven will give us success. We his servants will start rebuilding, but as for you, you have no share in Jerusalem or any claim or historic right to it."

Matthew 25:21

His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'

Commentary

This prophetic word indicates that we are arriving at a place of service for a season.  Often we keep praying and seeking, while waiting for something to happen. This word says that we are now arriving at a place where He is expecting us to apply ourselves in ministry.  It seem that often we are waiting for someone to put us into a ministry situation, but this word indicates that He has put us somewhere, and that he is expecting us to make an impact for Him.  This word is saying to unpack your bags and take possession.  To me this says that we are to assume ownership of the situation where He has placed us.  After all, He is God and owns all things.  So where ever He sends us, He gives us spiritual authority and gifts to rise to the purpose.

The word refers to Nehemiah which I have quoted above.  This word uses the mission of Nehemiah as a model for what He is asking you to do.  Nehemiah first surveyed the situation alone allowing God to show Him the situation instead of man.  Then after seeing the situation through God’s eyes, he called certain people together and revealed the situation and laid the plan of God before them.  Some chose to follow God’s plan but others began to mock the work and to hinder the plan.   I believe that God is drawing at least some of the people around your situation to Him and to the work, while others will react and reject you and God.  However, this is not the measure as to whether it is from God.   I believe you will receive confirmation from the few that God has chosen to walk with you, but many may come against you to try and stop the work.

Many of us have received prophetic words that we will have great victories.  But know that great victories only come with great battles.  Matthew 25:21 shows us that we may not always see the great significance in what we are called to do, but God does.
