The Presence of Truth

Truth is the container of My presence.  If I am not in it, can it be truth?  For all truth comes from Me.  All truth is Me.  I AM the very definition of truth.  For the eyes of this world can be deceived.  For facts of this world are determined only by the sight of this world.  But truth is My words.  Who can testify that My words are not truth?  Who can give a measure that finds fault with Me?  Can man deny that I am the way, the truth, and the life?  Can man say that He does not know that only I AM truth, when he places his hand on a bible and swears to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth?

Yet many are placing their hand on the bible and not telling the truth.  For their testimony is not about Me, and does not contain My presence.  Today I am declaring that My words are holy and that He who takes My name in vain is subject to the consequences of the lies, death, and corruption.  Hear Me now that My true prophets are coming forth to judge the truth.  Not by the standards of this world, but by the presence of My Spirit.

John 5:39-40

You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life. These are the Scriptures that testify about me, yet you refuse to come to me to have life.

John 17:14-18

I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world.  My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.

Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.  As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world.

Mark 12:24

Jesus replied, "Are you not in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God?

Commentary

This prophetic word challenges us with the question of “What is truth?”.  The first line of this word says that “Truth is the container of My presence.”  This is very difficult to understand, but I believe that God is distinguishing between words that appear to be fact and words that carry His presence.  That would indicate that it is not words that are truth, but the presence of God himself.  This is a difficult thought, but that would imply that without the Spirit of God, that even the Bible may not convey truth.  This is borne out by the fact that the Pharisees would memorize the entire bible in their day and yet did not know Jesus when He came.

From this word, God appears to saying that He himself is truth and truth is the presence of the Spirit of Truth.  This would mean that when He says in

John 8:32:

Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.

That could also mean that you must know Him, the Spirit of Truth, and He will set you free.

In this word the Lord contrasts truth to facts by saying that facts are only determined through the limitations of this world.  Therefore, though something is a fact in this world, it may not convey any real truth.  It may not even be true when you understand the spiritual side of the fact.  For instance, it may be a fact that a medical procedure can save your life, but that is not the same as the salvation of the Lord who can truly save your life.

The reference to putting your hand on a bible to swear to tell the truth is a testimony that man is declaring that God’s word is truth.  Yet he does not understand what that means.  He reference that many are placing their hands on the bible and not telling the truth appears to talking about preachers who reference the bible to validate their words, yet their words are not sharing Him and His truth through His Spirit.   This is the meaning in John 5:39-40.  Many are trying to find answers by studying His word, yet they are not coming to Him through a relationship with Christ.  Only through a relationship can you have the truth that leads to salvation, eternal life.

Two other red letter reference scripture are given above.  There is much that can be said about both of these relative to this word.  Both are best interpreted by knowing that Jesus is the word of God, John 1:1.  Knowing the Truth and being sanctified by the Truth take on a deeper meaning when you understand that this knowing is about a relationship with God through the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth. (John 14:17, John 15:26)
